Breaking the cycles of homelessness

Supporting our community toward a path of self-sufficiency.

TFOBH board has over 20 years of experience as Funders of various homeless initiatives such as emergency care (food-shelter-medicine), education resources, scholarships, work training and placement, and cultural experiences. Our main mission is to break the cycle of homelessness.

The Friends of the Broward Homeless (TFOBH) is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation whose main purpose is to Fund organizations that improve and enhance the lives of children, women, and men who are homeless.

Most of the organizations in our community that focus on the plight of the homeless struggle to meet financial requirements to keep fundamental operations.  It leaves very little room for specific challenges or individual needs of a homeless client.  That is where we step in.

Initiatives

Host events to raise awareness and funds. These events help to support projects that are aligned with “The Friends” Mission. Backpacks and school supplies for the children starting a new school year without basic supplies – a playground for the homeless children at our local shelter – new mattresses for the beds at an overnight shelter, etc.

We recruit new members for “Friends.” Individuals who have a desire to share their knowledge and talents to work on projects that improve the lives of homeless men, women, and children in the Hollywood community and help provide a brighter future are welcome to join and volunteer.

Engagement

We engage with organizations that serve homeless persons, advocate for improved services and raise awareness.

“It is only through philanthropic support that we are able to improve life, not just for persons experiencing homelessness but for our entire community. Thank you again for contributing to our collective efforts to make Broward County a better place for everyone.”
